इजरायल-हमास युद्ध को लेकर अमेरिका की ओर से नया बयान सामने आया है। यह बयान भारतीय मूल के एक अमेरिकी सांसद ने दिया है। वरिष्ठ भारतीय-अमेरिकी सांसद डॉ.अमी बेरा ने इजरायल और फिलिस्तीन दोनों पर बेहद संतुलित बात कही है। उन्होंने शुक्रवार को कहा कि इजरायल को अपनी रक्षा करने का अधिकार है और फिलस्तीन के लोगों को जीने का अधिकार है। इसके साथ ही उन्होंने पश्चिम एशिया में संघर्ष के शांतिपूर्ण समाधान का आह्वान किया।
बेरा ने एक वीडियो संदेश में कहा, ‘‘मेरा दृढ़ता से मानना है कि इजरायल को अपना अस्तित्व बचाए रखने और अपनी रक्षा का अधिकार है, इसी तरह निर्दोष फिलस्तीनियों को शांति एवं सम्मान के साथ जीने का अधिकार है।’’ उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘मुझे उम्मीद है कि एक दिन इजरायली और फिलस्तीनी एक-दूसरे के साथ शांतिपूर्वक रह सकेंगे। मुझे नहीं पता कि क्या यह कभी न पूरा होने वाला ख्वाब है।
निर्दोषों की हत्या से पूरा नहीं होगा ख्वाब
अमेरिकी सांसद ने कहा कि मैं इतना जानता हूं कि अगर निर्दोष इजरायलियों की हत्या की जाती रहेगी और निर्दोष फिलस्तीनियों को मारा जाता रहेगा, तो यह कभी पूरा नहीं होगा। फिर दोनों मिलकर शांति से नहीं रहेंगे।’’ बेरा ने कहा, ‘‘संघर्षरत नागरिकों तक मानवीय सहायता, भोजन, पानी और दवा पहुंचाने के लिए हमें तत्काल संघर्षविराम की आवश्यकता है। इसके बाद हमें आगे एक अलग रास्ता तलाशने की जरूरत है।’’ बेरा अमेरिकी प्रतिनिधि सभा की विदेश मामलों की समिति और खुफिया मामलों पर सदन की स्थायी चयन समिति के वरिष्ठ सदस्य हैं। बता दें कि इजरायल ने अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति जो बाइडेन के कहने पर कुछ देर के लिए गाजा में संघर्ष विराम भी किया था। (भाषा)
