तेहरान: ईरान की एक अदालत ने गैर पुरुषों के साथ ‘अवैध संबंध’ के आरोप में एक महिला को मौत की सजा सुनाई है। ईरान की सरकारी मीडिया द्वारा दी गई जानकारी के मुताबिक, महिला को यह सजा उसके पति की शिकायत पर सुनाई गई। एक सरकारी अखबार ने बुधवार को एक खबर में कहा कि वह महिलाओं के एक जिम में बतौर ट्रेनर काम करती थी। खबर के मुताबिक, उसके पति ने 2022 में पुलिस से संपर्क कर शिकायत की थी। पति ने आरोप लगाया था कि उसने अपनी पत्नी को अपने घर पर एक अन्य व्यक्ति के साथ देखा था।
अपील के बाद कम हो सकती है सजा
महिला के पति ने अपनी शिकायत में कहा था कि उसे निगरानी कैमरों से पता लगा कि उसके अन्य पुरुषों के साथ संबंध हैं। ईरान के कानून के अनुसार महिला इस संबंध में अपील कर सकती है जिसके बाद उसकी सजा कम हो सकती है। ईरान की अदालतें कभी-कभी व्यभिचार के लिए लोगों को पत्थर मारकर मृत्युदंड देने की सजा सुनाती हैं, हालांकि अपील करने पर ऐसी सजा में नरमी बरती जाती है। ईरान में मृत्युदंड को लेकर उस पर अंतरराष्ट्रीय दबाव है। 2022 में ईरान ने 2 समलैंगिक पुरुषों को भी मौत की सजा सुनाई थी।
जुलाई तक 419 को मिली मौत की सजा
संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासचिव एंतोनियो गुतारेस ने बुधवार को कहा था कि ईरान में लोगों को मौत की सजा दिए जाने की दर खतरनाक स्तर पर है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस साल पहले 7 महीनों में कम से कम 419 लोगों को मौत की सजा सुनाई गई जो कि पिछले साल की समान अवधि से 30 फीसदी ज्यादा है। ईरान की एक अदालत ने 2017 में एक महिला को व्यभिचार को लेकर मौत की सजा सुनाई थी, हालांकि उसे सजा दिए जाने की कोई खबर नहीं मिली है। मौत की सजा वाले अपराधों में व्यभिचार, अप्राकृतिक यौन संबंध, हत्या, बलात्कार, सशस्त्र डकैती, किडनैपिंग और ड्रग्स की तस्करी शामिल हैं।
